Collecting Lego Clone Troopers – Part 1
Since they first came out in 2002, the Lego Clone Minifigures have grown and grown in popularity, and it’s easy to see why. They may be clones, but they don’t all look the same, and they keep on bringing out new Lego Clone Troopers in variations based on the movies and Clone Wars series.
There’s now a growing interest in building up clone armies, and because of inexpensive sets like the Clone Trooper Battle Packs it is easy to get your hands on a whole bunch of these clone minifigures with different armor and weapons.
Another cool thing about collecting Clone Trooper Lego is how you can customize them. Get add-on helmet visors, range-finders and floodlights. Or how about shoulder pauldrons and leg-armor. Adapt weapons by adding bits or build your own. Or go the whole way and paint them with your own designs.
I’ve put together a quick list of my current top five Lego Clone Troopers, not including Captains or Commanders, (they are listed under Minifigs section). I think these guys are all really collectable and worth having if you are building a Clone army.
My Top Five Lego Clone Minifigures for your army:
1. Clone Commando from set 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack.
2. ARF Trooper from set 9488 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droids.
3. Clone Gunner from set 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack.
4. Bomb-squad Clone from 7913 Clone Trooper Lego Battle Pack.
5. BARC Trooper from 75037 Battle on Saleucami.
There are many customized Clones sold on Ebay. Be aware that there is a vast difference in quality, look carefully before you buy. And Firestartoys.com do a range of quality custom add-ons for Lego Clone minifigures.
The range is expanding all the time and I’ve put together another page on some of the latest Lego Clone Troopers available. I will continue to add to the list with the best of the best.
