Star Wars Lego – Cool and Collectable sets

Unbeatable: Lego Star Wars Toys

I created minifigureuniverse.com for people just like you who have discovered  Lego Star Wars sets to be an unbeatable combination of fun, creativity and coolness.

I’ve been a big fan of Lego all my life, and about 5 years ago, when my son started collecting Star Wars sets, my imagination was fired up again. A whole new galaxy of possibilities for me and my son to share and play together, which eventually turned into this website.

Who is this site for?

If you are new to Lego Star Wars, hopefully you’ll find some help here. You don’t need to spend a fortune on these sets, even though Lego can be expensive. I focus a lot on buying second hand sets and minifigures from ebay, they are usually very well looked after and great value for money, you just have to do your research, and that’s were i can help.

Lego Star Wars:  Sets for collectors

If you are a collector, I’m sure you will get something from the reviews pages, as you try to decide what next for your collection.  I spend a lot of time trawling through ebay looking for the best and the overlooked:  Lego are releasing new sets all the time and it can be a challenge to keep up with the latest, but new isn’t always best; I review a number of very good older ones that can be a great way to build up your range of sets.

I have my favorites of course: Lego 7965 Millennium Falcon is a very cool set both in terms of collectability and playability. It was first released in 2011 and is so popular it is still listed as a current set on the Lego website.  Yes it’s expensive, but it’s still going to be worth a lot in 5 years time.  How many plastic toys can you say that about?

Lego Star Wars: It’s a Minifigure Universe

And the minifigures.  Well, at the moment I have a desk littered with the little Lego characters, most of them holding blasters or lightsabers.  I’m in the middle of compiling a page of all the best ones (you can help by letting me know your favorites), just have a look in the Minifigs section.

Mace Windu from Lego star wars set 75019

It’s not hard to see why the Lego Star Wars minifigures are such a hit.  The basic design hasn’t changed but in recent years Lego have really gone to town on the detailing and accessories.  Some of the Clone Troopers are just so well done, they are a masterpiece.   The new Republic Troopers from set 75001 are a good example of the quality Lego produces.

Jedi Knights are always popular, Luke Skywalker is obvious, but what about Mace Windu from set 75019, or Ahsoka from the very collectable Starfighter set 7751 from 2009.

Darth Vader is one of the most collectable Lego minifigures, of course a must-have.  But he’s nothing compared to Boba Fett from set 10123 cloud City.  You could pay upwards of $200 for this minifigure alone!

So a big welcome to my site from me and my son.  Leave us a comment on any of the Lego Star Wars sets review pages, and if you have any suggestion just let us know.
